🚌💙 It's National School Bus Safety Week!
This year's theme, "Safe Rides, Everyday Heroes," recognizes the transportation professionals who help students get to and from school safely every day.
Safety is at the heart of everything our KSD Transportation team does. From pre-trip vehicle inspections and defensive driving practices to ongoing training and route planning, hundreds of transportation professionals work behind the scenes to help ensure students arrive at school ready to learn and return home safely.
We're proud of our drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, routers, and support staff, whose commitment to safety helps KSD transport approximately 9,000 students each day. Their dedication has contributed to consistently outstanding Washington State Patrol inspection results and success in regional and state school bus safety competitions.

Reminder: No-Cost Immunization Clinic Next Tuesday, October 13
Kent School District, in partnership with Bird’s Eye Medical and Best Starts for Kids, will host a no-cost immunization clinic for children and youth ages 6 months through 18 years. School-required vaccines will be available.
Date: Tuesday, October 13, 2026
Time: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Location: Kent School District Administration Building
Mt. Adams Conference Room
12033 SE 256th Street, Kent, WA 98030
Vaccines will be provided at no cost to children and youth ages 6 months through 18 years, regardless of insurance status. Select vaccines will also be available for uninsured adults, subject to availability.
Pre-registration is encouraged, and pre-registered patients will receive priority. Walk-ins will be accepted based on availability. Families should bring their child’s vaccination records, if available, especially for vaccines received outside Washington State, and an insurance card if insured.

ASB and leadership students from KSD’s four comprehensive high schools recently gathered for the first Inter-high meeting of the school year. The event gave students an opportunity to build connections, share perspectives, and discuss what's happening in their school communities.
Through team-building activities and collaborative discussions, students learned more about one another and explored ways to make a positive difference in their schools. Working alongside peers from across the district and KSD leadership, they exchanged ideas, identified common priorities, and developed solutions they can bring back to their campuses. The experience helped strengthen student voice, foster collaboration, and empower the next generation of leaders.

➡️ This is a renewal of the current voter-approved levy, not a new tax. The levy provides about 15% of Kent School District's funding and helps cover costs not fully funded by the state.

🙌 Student-athletes are united and in the Kent School District! The Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) recently kicked off a new year of leadership, collaboration, and connection. Representing KSD's four comprehensive high schools, student-athletes work alongside athletic directors to strengthen student voice, develop leadership skills, and help create positive experiences for athletes across the district.
From shaping sportsmanship initiatives that have improved game-day environments to discussing values like integrity, courage, empathy, and perseverance, SALT members are leading meaningful change both on and off the field. Through their commitment and collaboration, these student leaders are helping build stronger school communities and a greater sense of belonging for all.
