Coverage Options for Eligible Employees

At Kent School District, we value our employees and are committed to supporting your health and well-being. Employees who are anticipated to work at least 630 hours during the current school year are eligible for a range of benefits, including both mandatory and optional insurance plans.

Mandatory Benefits 

Core benefits are automatically provided to eligible employees at no charge.

  • Vision insurance

  • Dental insurance

  • Basic life insurance ($35,000)

  • Basic accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance ($5,000)

  • Basic long-term disability insurance

Optional Employee-Paid Benefits 

Employees may also choose to enroll in additional coverage and financial programs, which come at a cost to the employee.

  • Medical insurance

  • Supplemental long-term disability insurance issued by The Standard

  • Supplemental life insurance issued by MetLife

  • Supplemental accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance issued by MetLife

  • Medical flexible spending arrangement (FSA) issued by Navia

  • Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP) issued by Navia

  • Health savings account (HSA) issued by HealthEquity and available only with UMP High-Deductible medical plan

  • SmartHealth voluntary wellness program
