Newly Elected Board Members

The Kent School District (KSD) is proud to welcome two school board directors elected in November 2025 who will continue strengthening our commitment to student success, family partnership, and community-centered governance. Director Laura Williams (District 5) and Director Teresa Gregory (District 4) will each serve terms beginning at the December Regular Board Meeting by taking their Oath of Office. .Both bring experience, strong community values, and a shared dedication to the students, families, and staff of KSD.

 

Director Williams

Director Laura Williams — District 5

Laura Williams was elected as the District 5 Director in November 2025 and is beginning her first term on the Kent School District Board. A veteran educator with extensive K–12 experience, Laura has taught mathematics for many years and held leadership positions both inside and outside the classroom. She is a proud Kent resident and parent with deep ties to the community and a long-standing commitment to public education.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts in Math Education and a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis on at-risk students. Before joining the board, she served in multiple leadership roles within the Auburn Education Association and has advocated at both district and state levels for strong family partnerships, elevated student voice, and improved teaching and learning conditions.

Her priorities include expanding academic opportunities, ensuring safe and welcoming school environments, strengthening support for multilingual learners and refugee communities, and promoting responsible, student-centered budgeting. Laura is committed to collaborative relationships with families, labor partners, and district staff to help every student access their best educational experience.

Outside her professional work, Laura enjoys playwriting and producing for her school’s theater program, spending time with her family, and cheering on her children’s activities. She brings a powerful blend of classroom experience, community leadership, and heart to her service on the board.

 Director Teresa Gregory — District 4

Teresa Gregory was appointed to the Kent School District Board in February 2025, took her oath of office that same month, and was officially elected to the District 4 seat in November 2025. She brings more than 20 years of experience in leadership development, instructional design, and organizational strategy, offering a collaborative, student-centered approach to board leadership.

As the founder and owner of G Squared Consulting, Teresa supports organizations in strengthening culture, improving communication, and fostering inclusive environments where people thrive. Her professional background aligns strongly with the district's commitment to equitable, high-quality learning experiences.

Director Gregory’s priorities focus on closing opportunity gaps, supporting educators and staff, promoting fiscal responsibility, and ensuring transparent, community-engaged decision-making. She is passionate about expanding meaningful pathways that prepare students for college, career, and life.

Teresa’s strategic experience, commitment to equity, and belief in the power of strong school–community relationships make her a valued leader on the Kent School District Board.
