Software Library
Access to Safe Online Learning Resources
Kent School District (KSD) is committed to ensuring students have equitable access to safe online resources that support learning and growth. Recognizing the essential role of electronic resources in education, KSD strives to provide transparency to the community regarding the digital tools used in our schools.
Software is essential in equipping teachers and students with tools for effective teaching and learning. With the increasing availability of online tools, it is crucial that all software and applications used by students and staff align with district curriculum goals and comply with student data privacy laws.
The Kent School District Software Library lists reviewed and approved software that may be used by students and staff. Each listing includes links to the product provider’s terms of service and privacy policies. You can search for software by grade level, subject, type, and privacy status.
Software Review Process
Before software is added to the library, it is carefully evaluated by a software review team composed of KSD certificated and classified staff. This team reviews new requests for online services and software as part of the district's purchasing process. Software is assessed based on the following criteria:
Accessibility
Archiving
Cost
Evaluation of one-time and ongoing costs, including licensing and professional development.
Digital Learning Value
Alignment with instructional standards and adopted curricula.
Oversight
Effective management of user identities, data access, and permissions.
Support
Compatibility with the district’s technical infrastructure.
Once reviewed, software is assigned one of the following approval statuses:
General Approval Levels
Approved & Supported Levels
Disclaimer
Approval status does not guarantee classroom use or imply that one resource is superior to another. The Software Library reflects the collection of district-reviewed online services and software, but actual usage varies by teacher, course, and subject area.
