Unforgettable Fundraiser Assembly!
On March 18, students and staff participated in exciting challenges to raise funds for our school while getting a behind-the-scenes look at video production, bringing career exploration to life! The assembly footage is being edited, with the final video expected in June. We can't wait to share the finished video with you! Thank you to our amazing families, students, staff, and Cashtronaut/Atlas Earth Studios for making this special day possible.
Students in Mrs. Agnihotris robotics club participated in the ASCE Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition 2026, hosted by the Seattle Section Younger Member Forum of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
For the past four weeks, students worked hard to design, test, and build their bridges using real math, engineering principles, and the engineering design process, all while meeting very challenging competition criteria.
Out of 28 teams, our Meeker teams achieved an incredible result! 🏆
• Shree won the Best T-Shirt Award
• Bruce and Blayke won the Best Estimate Award
This is an especially big accomplishment because the competition included both middle and high school teams.
Our students showed creativity, perseverance, and real engineering thinking. I’m incredibly proud of their dedication and teamwork! 👏

Celebrating National Mentoring Month: Highlighting Kent Youth and Family Services 💙
January is National Mentoring Month, and as OneKSD, we are proud to recognize the incredible work of Kent Youth and Family Services. For more than 55 years, KYFS has supported children, youth, and families in our community through professional counseling, education, and a variety of support services.
Their mission—to promote healthy development and help youth and families achieve their goals—reflects values we share as a district: equity, inclusion, partnership, and advocacy. By working together, we can help students thrive and build brighter futures.

Families who qualify are encouraged to complete the CNEEB Application (Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit) to help reduce or waive sports and activity fees and support student participation this winter. We are excited to invite you to our BRAVE TrailBlazers Holiday Party on Friday, December 19th from 3:00pm to 5:00pm! We will be gathering at Meeker Middle School. This holiday celebration will be a wonderful opportunity for youth and families to connect, learn more about BRAVE, and hear about the programming we’ve offered to students throughout the year. We can’t wait to share this time together as a BRAVE community. We will be providing pizza, drinks, and snacks for all attendees.

Meeker Students attended the "Color of Justice Conference" at Kent Municipal Court.
Meeker students had an exceptional experience. They began the day hearing from Federal Court Judge Jamal Whitehead, who spoke about imposter syndrome, staying determined and connected to one’s purpose, and navigating life with a physical disability. Following this session, students participated in a mock Appellate Argument with Judge Monica Cary, where they had the opportunity to defend positions on either “banning TikTok” or “protecting TikTok.” Each student took on a courtroom role: Judge, Lawyer, or Bailiff, which allowed them to actively engage in the legal process. They concluded the day with pizza and a discussion about various legal career pathways.

I am thrilled to share that our students earned three awards:
• Team Perseverance Award – for their resilience and consistent effort throughout the competition.
• Pit Display Award – recognizing their organized, engaging, and informative pit presentation.
• Exceptional Feature Award – highlighting a unique and innovative aspect of their robot.
Additionally, the Meeker Mambas advanced to the finals, becoming one of the top finalists in the entire competition and earning a special finalist badge. This was an incredible accomplishment for the students and a proud moment for our program.
Beyond the awards, the most inspiring part of the day was the learning process. After every match, students analyzed their robot performance, refined their programming, and made adjustments to improve. They communicated with other teams, exchanged strategies, and displayed exemplary team spirit. Their dedication to learning and willingness to improve after each round made the experience truly meaningful.
Our students worked exceptionally hard to prepare for this competition, and their growth, collaboration, and commitment were remarkable to witness. It was an excellent representation of Meeker’s values and the power of inclusive robotics. Congratulations Mrs. Agnihotri and the Meeker Robotics Club!
