Dion and Gobi shared their incredible story today at school. They are in town for 1 more week, so they offered to extend book sales until Tuesday. Each book is signed by Dion and Gobi. Book delivery is on Thursday. Please turn in any orders by Tuesday to the library for the PTSA to collect. Thank you, Fairwood PTSA, for bringing Gobi and Dion to Fairwood.

Elementary Conferences are happening next week, October 21-25. Conference dismissal time is 3 hours early for elementary schools on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The Fairwood PTSA and Mrs. Keiser partner to run reading challenges each month. Students can use the beanstack app or do a paper challenge. Students who read more than 300 minutes can always record additional minutes. Prizes are awarded each month. September challenges are due before Friday 10/4 to ensure each child that completes the challenge gets the dogtag/charm for this month. Use this link to print additional copies. Tomorrow is an exciting dat at Fairwood! Friday, September 27 Goodies for Grownups!  The Book Fair in the library will be open from 8:15-9:15am. Grownups can shop after drop-off and enjoy a little treat too! Popcorn Friday! Thank you volunteers for popping corn for our students. Fall Carnival, 6:00-8:00pm!  This is a fun annual event for the entire family, not a drop-off event. There will be pizza, games, bounce houses, face painting, crafts and more! The Book Fair will also be open for shopping. **Volunteers during the event are still welcome and needed! If you can spare a little of your time, it will really help make this carnival a success. Book Fair, our largest fundraiser for books that support birthday books, classroom libraries, the school library and other reading initiatives, is happening this week. Mrs. Keiser and the PTSA work to make this a great event for all students. Each class has a chance to browse one day this week M-Th and the Book Fair is open M-Th during lunch recess. Grownups can shop Wednesday afterschool from 1:25-2, Friday morning from 8:15-9:15 (coffee and goodies for growups) and again during the Fall carnival from 6-8pm Friday night. Thank you to all the volunteers that run the register and help our kids have a unique buying experience!
