Kent School District has received clean Accountability, Finance, and Federal Grant Program audits from the Washington State Auditor’s Office for the period of Sept. 1, 2024, through Aug. 31, 2025. This marks the seventh consecutive clean audit the district has received.

According to the Washington State Auditor’s Office, “District operations complied, in all material respects, with applicable state laws, regulations, and its own policies, and provided adequate controls over the safeguarding of public resources.”

The independent accountability audit reviewed multiple operational and financial areas identified as having the highest potential risk for fraud, loss, abuse, or noncompliance. Areas examined included payroll procedures, procurement practices, budget compliance, Associated Student Body activities, information technology security controls, open public meetings compliance, and oversight of restricted funds and enrichment activities.

“We appreciate the professionalism and dedication of our staff in maintaining strong financial practices and accountability systems that support student success and public trust,” said Kent School District leadership.
