Tuesday, Feb. 4, all schools and the administration campus are closed. Thank you for your patience as we prioritize the safety of our students, families, and staff when making these difficult decisions to alter school schedules. This morning, our district leaders, maintenance, facilities, safety, and transportation staff surveyed roads, school driveways and parking lots, along with sidewalks for our walking students throughout the 72-square miles of our district before making a decision. 2-HOUR LATE START ON MONDAY, FEB. 3, 2025! Weather reports indicate likely snow showers and freezing temperatures overnight which will cause slippery road conditions in the morning, Monday, February 3, 2025. To keep our students, families, and staff safe, there will be a two-hour delay to the start of school. The District Administration Campus is open. Families, please view your student(s) school bell schedule to determine when your student’s school will begin two hours later than the regular schedule. • Buses will run two hours later than the regular schedule. • Buses will run normal pick-up routes unless it is determined in the morning that it is unsafe. Please be at the bus stop two hours later than your normal pick-up time. o Only if there is a change: a notification of buses running on snow/limited bus service routes will be sent around 7:00 a.m. Find the snow/limited bus service route pick-up locations. • Zero hour is canceled. • All out of district transportation is canceled. • All A.M. and P.M. preschool classes are canceled. • Lunch will be served. Lake Youngs PTSA Family Movie Night and General Membership Meeting Thursday, January 30th ~ 6:00pm - 8:00pm Featuring… The Wild Robot! Join us for our 2nd General Membership Meeting and Family Movie Night of the year! Families are invited to enjoy a movie night together, or kids can stay with our volunteers while parents join us in the next room for our PTSA General Membership Meeting where you can learn more about Lake Youngs PTSA, volunteering and what we do to support Lake Youngs Elementary. Doors open and concession sales begin at 5:30pm. The movie and meeting begin at 6:00pm! Concession sales are cash only and include: pizza, drinks and snacks and as always… FREE popcorn! Can’t wait to see you there!

The holiday season is upon us, and winter is just around the corner! Lake Youngs Elementary and PTSA are sponsoring a “Virtual” Giving Tree for families within the Lake Youngs Community. Hello Lake Youngs Families! Each month we like to spoil our Lake Youngs Staff by having a potluck lunch for them with different themes. In order for this potluck to happen, we greatly appreciate donations. December's Potluck theme is "Winter Celebration". We have a Signup Genius for you to sign up for an item to donate or if it is easy for you to donate money, we can use that money to purchase items for the potluck. December's Potluck is on Thursday, December 19tt. Please have all items dropped off to the office by Thursday, December 19th by 9:30am. Lake Youngs December Dress-up Days! Starting December 2nd to December 20th, have your students join in!

All Kent School District Schools and the administration campus are open and operating on normal schedules Monday, November 25. Buses are on normal routes at the regularly scheduled pick-up times.

Schools Closed Friday, November 22, Administration Campus Open. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to prioritize the safety of our students and staff in the aftermath of this severe windstorm. We are working diligently with Puget Sound Energy (PSE) to reopen our schools. Currently, there are 17 schools without power and three with unsafe conditions. As of 6:30 p.m. today, 20 schools and the administration campus are without power caused by the severe windstorm.
