The Kent School District community is celebrating a special achievement at one of its schools.

Scenic Hill Elementary School was recently named a Washington School on the Rise by the Association of Washington Student Leaders (AWSL) and the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP). The recognition highlights the collective efforts of students, staff, families, and school leaders who work every day to create a welcoming school community where students feel connected, supported, and empowered to learn.

Members of the Scenic Hill community gathered to celebrate the recognition during a school assembly on Sept. 30.
