Why no graduation? Middle schools host celebrations for our students rather than graduations for the entire family because students are in the middle of their educational journey—not at the end. These celebrations honor growth, effort, and progress while encouraging students to continue strive. Middle school is a meaningful milestone, not the final destination.

Dear Cedar Heights Families and Staff,
Today local fire officials, Puget Sound Energy, and our Kent School District maintenance team promptly responded to reports of a natural gas smell in the building. After a thorough investigation, it was confirmed there was no gas leak or safety concern.
Thanks to the swift action of our team, the situation was handled quickly and professionally, and CHMS career day started without a hitch!
The safety and well-being of our students and staff are always our top priorities. If you have any questions about today’s response, please don’t hesitate to reach out via email at Erika.Hanson@kent.12.wa.us.
Thank you for your continued support of our Cedar Heights community,
Erika Hanson, Principal
