Dear CHMS Families,
We are approaching our laptop deployment. If you are the parent/guardian of a 6th grader, they need to have a signed agreement form to be issued their school laptop. Your 6th grade student should have received the form in their 1st period class on Friday the 29th of August. Please remind your student to have the form signed and return it to their 1st period teacher, no later than Friday the 5th of September.
Thank you so much for your help,
Kirstin Duckett CHMS Librarian and Technology Specialist

It's hard to believe the first week of school is already underway! Cedar Heights PTSA has been planning for another fantastic year and we are excited to bring back some of the traditions our families enjoy - like movie nights and game nights! Please mark your calendars for our first meeting on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9th at 6:30pm, in the commons. We hope to see you there 😊
CH PTSA MEETINGS
You're invited to engage in discussion with our board, chairs, student members, and hear updates from the CHMS leadership team.
- Typically the first Tuesday of every other month
- 6:30pm in the CHMS Library (unless otherwise noted)
- Students are welcome!
MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL
We hope you will consider supporting Cedar Heights PTSA again this year with a first time or renewed membership. You'll not only be helping your own child and others at Cedar Heights, but through affiliation with the Washington State PTA, you'll be joining the largest volunteer association dedicated to the education, health, welfare, and safety of all children in our state. Your membership also ensures that you continue to receive PTSA communications keeping you up-to-date on events and activities at Cedar Heights. You'll even have access to special 💲discounts💲 available to WSPTA members, see the Member Benefits page for more details. Please consider asking your student to join, we love to hear their voice!
There are two ways to join...
MAIL: we have attached a membership form to this email, and we will also have printed copies available at school and at PTSA events. Simply fill out the form, put it in an envelope along with a check, and return it to the PTSA Mailbox at Cedar Heights.

VOLUNTEERING
While not a requirement (and please don't feel pressure), our community is always grateful for your gift of time. Currently we have a need for volunteers to help our librarian, *the one and only* Mrs. Duckett, with laptop distribution and also for picture retakes. There are many other opportunities throughout the school year, including movie nights, game nights, art night, concessions, staff appreciation meals, lego league, bingo, book fair, and more! Your presence makes a noticeable difference for Cedar Heights students 🥰
- Laptop distribution (9/8 and 9/9)
- Picture retakes (10/24)
VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP: www.signupgenius.com
*Friendly reminder that new and returning volunteers must complete a KSD background check: VIPS Link
If you are interested in a larger volunteer role, we do have a fundraising chair position open - or come join the PTSA Board as our VP of Membership 😃 Please email cedar.heights.PTSA@gmail.com for more information.
It's going to be another awesome year at Cedar Heights!
