A safe, sustainable, healthy and respectful school community is one of the strategic goals for the Kent School district. Each spring, Kent School District sends school climate surveys to parents, students, and staff. The surveys include questions about expectations for students, school safety, the occurrence of bullying, and respect for diversity. In addition, parents and staff were asked about communication between school and home, awareness of Annual Measurable Objectives (AMOs), and community involvement. This spring, we will again give the school climate surveys to parents, students, and staff, as we continue to build on strengths while addressing needs. The surveys will be given online to students and staff. We hope that most parents will be able to respond online as well. Please use the following link to respond to the Parent Survey by May 30, 2014. (Click to find the link for the survey.)
The levy allows the Board opportunities to restore programs lost during past budget reductions. The Board is seeking input from community and staff through two public hearings, April 16 and 22, or a survey.
KSD parents and staff are invited to attend a free round table discussion on the importance of education data and what it means to the success of our children. Preregistration is recommended.
