Hudson Potts Student athletes embrace the challenge of balancing success in the classroom and on the field, Kentlake High School Senior Hudson Potts has been called “the epitome of a student-athlete" for his academic success, leadership abilities, and dedication to serving his community.

"Through his intelligence, hard work, and quality time management, Hudson has maintained a 4.0 GPA,” Kentlake Head Football Coach Brett Thompson said. “He is an extremely bright young man with limitless academic potential. I have no doubt he will accomplish whatever he puts his mind to.”

Hudson has been described by his coaches as “an outstanding athlete, a stellar student, a committed leader, and a model citizen."

He is not only an exceptional student academically, but he is also an involved member of the Kent community who has volunteered at Northwest Harvest filling bags with food for local food banks, helped at basketball tournament fundraisers, and volunteers at his church.

“I am extremely proud of Hudson,” his mother, Holly Potts, said. “He always gave 100 percent on the football field and was a joy to watch from the time he was little. He was extremely diligent with his studies by putting in the time to maintain his GPA.”

Hudson plans to attend the University of Washington in the fall and study Applied Mathematics or Statistics.
