Return to Headlines

January 29, 2021

On January 15, 2021, Kent School District released hybrid learning surveys for families and staff. The purpose of this survey is to help us plan our return to in-person learning.

We know it was difficult to decide on a learning model for your student(s) when the plan is not final, and guidance from our state continues to change.

We greatly appreciate the families that took the time to share 12,814 responses (represents 49.8% of students) regarding students returning to in-person learning and the 2,581 (67.5%) KSD staff who responded.

Based on current COVID-19 activity trends, we anticipate that the soonest PreK-1 grade students could begin limited in-person learning on February 22, 2021. Until then, KSD students remain in remote learning. A final decision on a return date will be based on public health guidance, the spread of the virus in our community, and bargaining with our labor partners. More information will be coming soon.

A revised hybrid plan aligned to current public health guidelines will be posted on February 1, 2021.
