Students Invent Devices for Good

Kentwood High School’s Engineering students exemplified the spirit of equity, community, and excellence by inventing and building adaptive and assistive technologies for special education students in Kent School District.
22 students worked with our occupational therapists to create devices to help five students in need. Students built prototypes using shop tools and 3D printing technology and received feedback on their designs to engineer the best solutions possible.

During the Kentwood Engineering Design Adaptive and Assistive Device Showcase on May 16, students from Kentwood’s Engineering and Design class showcased their work.
