KR Weekly Update
Note from Principal Albrecht
We are so excited to see students again at KR. It was very helpful to have all of our students come to KR with completed wellness screeners. This allowed us to check in our students and by the time school started we had checked in nearly 90% of all students. Then it was just a matter of directing students to their classes throughout the day. Just a reminder that students will begin Tuesday with fourth period. Please have students check Skyward this evening to determine where their fourth-period class is so they can get in the right check-in line tomorrow. As always please have your student complete the Wellness Screener every morning.
Again, the daily schedule is 3.5 hours of live instruction on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. Classes begin at 7:40 a.m. and will end at 11:10 a.m. Students are not allowed to stay on campus after 11:10 a.m. Teachers will be instructing in-person and remote students at the same time. Students complete 2.5 hours of asynchronous, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons. Asynchronous time is scheduled from 11:40 a.m to 2:20 p.m. Teachers will continue to offer remote office hours to answer student questions or offer support. Wednesdays are 3.5 fully remote hours for all students. Students will have scheduled synchronous advisory time every other Wednesday from 9:35 to 10:10 a.m.
In addition, if you did not sign-up for hybrid learning but now you would like your student to attend, we will place you on a waitlist. If sufficient openings occur, we will call you to determine if you would still like to attend hybrid learning. It is very important that you do not send your child to school if they have not signed up for hybrid learning. Those students who come to school without signing up for hybrid learning will have to return home immediately
We continue to hope these KR Weekly Updates will provide you with the necessary information to keep you informed. As always, I am proud to serve such an amazing community. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at Mike.Albrecht@kent.k12.wa.us.

Kentridge Athletics Update
This week we have our season 2 sports starting NPSL competitions. Registration for season 2 has been closed. Registration for season 3 sports is still available through FamilyID, see details below.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Athletic Director Marty Osborn at Marty.Osborn@kent.k12.wa.us if you have questions or concerns about our programs.
Season 3 Registration
Family ID registration is open for season three sports until May 16, 2021. Season 3 sports include boys basketball, girls basketball, gymnastics, boys/girls wrestling, and boys tennis.
The WIAA requires schools to conduct grade checks on all athletes in their athletic programs at the 2/3s point of the season. All athletes are expected to be passing 5 classes to participate in athletic competitions. If an athlete is not passing 5 classes, they become ineligible to compete in athletic competitions during the following week and are on the KSD weekly grade check program for the rest of the season. Grades are checked each Friday and athletes have the opportunity to regain their eligibility on a weekly basis.
NPSL Spectator Guidelines
Currently, most sports are allowing each athlete on the team to have two family members attend their HOME games only. KR sports allowing two family members per athlete include cheer, cross country, dance, football, golf, soccer, and volleyball. Swim and dive is conducting virtual meets at the Lindbergh Pool (currently Renton School District is not allowing spectators).
