COVID-19 VACCINATIONS FOR STUDENTS 5-11 Years Old

Kent School District is hosting another series of vaccination clinics at schools from November 9-18. These clinics will offer the Pfizer vaccination, at no charge, to all students aged 5 -11.  Providers will not be taking patients who require a different COVID-19 vaccine other than the dose for 5-11-year-olds to reduce the possibility of vaccine errors during the below Vaccination Clinic Schedule.

Vaccination is not required for students in Washington at this time; this is a decision that can only be made at the state level, not the district level. However, if you want your student vaccinated, please register for one of the clinics below through our partner provider.

From Public Health Seattle & King County

  • The CDC recommends that children and adolescents age 5 and older get a COVID-19 vaccine.
  • The Pfizer vaccine for this age group is formulated specifically for children. Children aged 5-11 cannot get the Pfizer vaccine for ages 12+, so as pediatric doses become available, families should make sure to only make appointments for the Pfizer vaccination appropriate for their child’s age.
  • CDC began shipping vaccines this week, so many vaccine providers may not yet have vaccine supplies, procedures in place, or appointments available. Some providers may not receive their vaccine until next week.
  • Starting this week ending November 5, vaccines will become available for children in this age group through some pediatricians’ offices, school-located clinics, King County vaccination partnership sites, and some retail pharmacies.
  • The supply of vaccines is limited to start and will require patience from families. We know this is hard as families have waited so long for a vaccine for younger children while navigating the challenge of parenting during a pandemic, but we ask for your patience as vaccines become more available.
  • Please use Vaccine Locator for information to find locations with appointments.
