Winter Graduation Celebration

Kent Phoenix Academy held its winter graduation ceremony on Tuesday, February 26 in the school’s library. Seven students received their high school diplomas surrounded by family, friends, and representatives from across Kent School District (KSD).Students smile in their graduation regalia.

Superintendent Dr. Calvin Watts read from What Do You Do With An Idea, by Kobi Yamada, and told students they are each an idea whose time has come and ideas can change the world.

Kent Phoenix Academy offers four unique high school programs to students in KSD. Each program has a different approach and focus for students who want a learning environment different from a traditional high school. Project-based learning, service-learning, and work with colleges and employers is an integral part of all four programs to help prepare students for post-secondary education and the workforce.

Students achieve personal goals and build self-confidence while participating in selected programs directly connected to their local and global community. Students gain important literacy, math, and skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, information literacy, communication, use of technology, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Congratulations graduates!
