Free School Meals Available

Free School Meals Available for All Children (0-18) Every Wednesday

On August 31, The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced they will extend the summer meal program through December 31, 2020, depending on federal funding.

Since schools closed in March due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we have served more than 974,400 meals. This shows the great need in our community during these difficult times.

“This extension will allow us to continue serving our students and families and ensuring our students have the nutrition they need to learn,” Director of Nutrition Services Teresa Fields said.

What Does This Mean for Families?

Families can visit one of our meal pick-up locations on Wednesday each week from 2:00-4:00 p.m. to pick up a free box of free nutritious meals for the week for each child under age 18. You do not need to bring your student’s ID card or provide a student number to pick up these meals.

Do I Still Need to submit My Free & Reduced-Price Meals Application?

Yes, while meals are free for all children through December, we still encourage qualifying families to apply for free and reduced-price meals.

This will ensure you are ready in January when meals are no longer free for everyone and that our district receives important funding we rely on to support students.
