    Lake Youngs Hosts Native American Field Trip With Special Guest

    In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, Lake Youngs Elementary hosted 27 Native students from Lake Youngs, Scenic Hill, and East Hill, treating them to a field trip meant to expose them to their culture through music and storytelling. Of course, it would only be complete with the addition of community building through games and pizza.

    The curiosity was plain to see on the students' faces as they filed into Mill Creek Middle School's cafeteria one by one. They were in for a treat as the current National Ambassador for Young People's Literature, Meg Medina, took the stage to entertain and educate the kids through her storytelling and critical discussion about the importance of literacy.
