  • Remember to Vote by February 11!

The Kent School District (KSD) Renewal Educational Program & Operations (EP&O) Levy measure on the ballot for the February 11, 2020 election replaces the current levy expiring in December 2020.

The renewal EP&O Levy supports educational programs, student learning, and staffing. Since 1984 Kent School District has operated with local levy support for education programs and operations.

Each year Kent School District spends an average of $12,231 per student.

Our local levy and bond dollars, when approved by voters, provide funds that stay in our district and help our students.

stable tax rate for our community that also addresses the educational needs of all students in Kent School District was a primary goal of planning the renewal levy for the February 11, 2020 election.

Having good schools and facilities has a positive effect on our neighborhoods. Better schools help build a stronger community, which will improve our quality of life, keep crime down, and help increase the value of our homes.

Don’t forget to get out and vote!

    I-Ready Diagnostic Assessment Results

All students recently finished their I-Ready Reading and Math Diagnostic Assessment (Kindergarten students do not take the I-Ready Reading at this time.) This computer-based assessment helps identify a student’s strengths, areas of growth and provides on-line lessons and games for individualized tutoring needs.

All assessment results will be mailed home by the end of January.

Please note that if your student’s scores went down from the first assessment to the second assessment, they may have been asked to complete a retake. This often happens when the computer flags a student for rushing.

At Pine Tree, we have a growth-focused mindset. We expect our students to know and own their scores. If you have any questions about the report, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or your child’s teacher.

    Renovations

Our falcon mural has been completed by local artist Toma Villa with the help of several Pine Tree students. Our mascot will proudly soar in the gymnasium for many years to come. Thank you to everyone who helped get this project completed. It looks amazing!

Our new multipurpose room is coming along nicely! The foundation has been poured and the walls are being erected. We are track and on schedule to open next fall. We will keep you up to date as the work continues.
