Scholarships with June 2019 Deadlines
The following scholarships are intended as a student resource and are not specifically endorsed by the Kent School District or its schools.
Atlantic Street Center Scholarship
Deadline: June 1, 2019 | Amount: Up to $5,00
Applicants must have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and plan, demonstrate financial need, and plan to attend an institution of higher education in Washington State. Strong consideration will be given to students pursuing higher education in STEM fields. The application and more information are available on Naviance under college scholarships.
Deadline: June 3, 2019 | Amount: $250, $500, $1,000
The Jane Austen Society of North America conducts an annual student essay contest to foster the study and appreciation of Jane Austen's work.
Deadline: June 5, 2019 | Amount: Three scholarships for $500 each
In honor of Benjamin Franklin, the Founding Father who was also an author, printer, inventor, scientist, and diplomat, three scholarships will be offered to outstanding gentlemen. Applicants must be starting their academic career at the University of Washington this fall that best epitomize Franklin’s spirit of intellectual curiosity and dedication to community.
Deadline: June 14, 2019 | Amount: $1,000
Applicants will write an essay on their educational career and life goals explaining their plan for getting there. The essay should be between 500-1000 words and include the applicant’s degree/major, why they selected it, and how it will help them achieve their goals.
Deadline: June 15, 2019 | Amount: 1020 scholarships up to $2,500 each
The Career & Technical Scholarship Program awards scholarships to students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives who wish to pursue a career or technical education at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States.
Deadline: June 15, 2019 | Amount: $4,000
The $4,000 Narrative Prize awarded annually for the best short story, novel excerpt, poem, one-act play, graphic story, or work of literary nonfiction published by a new or emerging writer in Narrative.
Deadline: June 22, 2019 | Amount: $500 to Manicuring program applicants & $1,000 to Cosmetology program applicants
Gene Juarez Academy offers a variety of scholarships to students who will graduate from high school in 2019 and attend beauty school.
Deadline: June 24, 2019 | Amount: $40,000 and $5,000 for each deadline
To be eligible to enter the ACT Scholarship Giveaway, you must be a permanent legal resident of the fifty United States of America or the District of Columbia, at least thirteen years old, and in the tenth or eleventh grade (or, if home schooled, in the equivalent of tenth or eleventh grade, and projected to be eligible to attend a post-secondary educational institution no later than October 1, 2021).
2019 Walt Canter Sewer/Water Utility Scholarship
Deadline: June 30, 2019 | Amounts: $500 to $3,000
Applicants must attend an accredited college, university, or technical school in the fall of 2019 pursuing a degree in management or technical training in the water or wastewater industry. The application is available on Naviance under college scholarships.
Deadline: June 30, 2019 | Amounts: $1,000, $200, & $100
Go For Broke National Education Center (GFBNEC) supports the legacy of Japanese American World War II veterans, who served their country at a time when the United States denied their civil rights. Applicants must submit a 250-500 word essay or work of poetry on one of the provided topics.
