Interim Principal Couch
Coming Home to Daniel Explorer Students & Families!
It is with great excitement I return home to serve the Kent School District as interim principal of George T. Daniel Elementary School for the 2019-2020 school year.
This year marks my 34th year in education and fourth year as a principal. Prior to my principalship, I proudly served Daniel Elementary as assistant principal. I am honored to come home to continue the great work of former Principal Drobny and staff where we are student centered, staff strong, and family engaged.
At George T. Daniel Elementary, we are dedicated to transforming the lives of students in a culture of learning and caring. As a Washington State Recognized School in narrowing the Opportunity Gap, we set high expectations by empowering our students with the skills necessary to become academically, socially, emotionally, and physically successful and responsible citizens. Our focus this year will be to cultivate a deeper understanding about race as we continue to close the achievement gap through a culture of learning and caring.
We believe in the strength of family and school. We believe in open, transparent communication. The more we partner, the greater the success of our students. Our collective partnership will ensure our students are successfully prepared for their futures.
We look forward to our collaboration as we engage in the educational process together!
