Principal Neufeld

  • New Dismissal Procedures

I have enjoyed my first few months at Meadow Ridge getting to know students and families. One of my first priorities is to increase safety.

In an effort to keep your children safe and in order to provide an efficient dismissal time, it is important that everyone follow Meadow Ridge’s new dismissal and parking lot procedures. Families who attended the October Coffee with the Principal session had an opportunity to provide input on our plan.

    Car Pick Up

If you pick up your child in the student loading zone, please follow these steps:

    1. Enter the designated central entrance off 108th Avenue SE, pull forward, and stay in the right lane. Please do not enter the parking lot from the northern entrance.
    2. Remain in your car and continue to pull forward until you reach the front of the line or just behind the car ahead of you in line.
    3. When prompted by staff, pull into one of the designated pick up spots. Staff will help your student board your car on the curbside only. Students will not be permitted to board outside the designated car pick up area.
    4. Once you have your child, drive carefully towards the northern exit and get in the left turn or right turn lanes to exit. Get in the left turn lane to head south on 108th Avenue SE or in the right turn lane to head north on 108th Avenue SE.

Preschool families should enter the bus lane at the southern entrance and pull into the preschool student loading area. Please park carefully and work with staff to load your student. After the student is loaded, cautiously back up and drive north through the bus zone to exit.

    Parking & Entering Building

If you have an appointment with a staff member or need to visit the office, you may park in the parking lot. For student safety reasons, the parking lot will be unavailable for student pick up and will be closed during dismissal.

Please communicate with your child about where you will be meeting her or him. Please inform our office staff about changes to child pick-up routines prior to 2:45 p.m. Also, because students and teachers will be in the middle of dismissal routines, the office will be unable to handle early dismissal requests after 2:50 p.m.

Meadow Ridge staff will be strictly enforcing our new dismissal system. Thank you for your cooperation in making dismissal safe and quick. If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to contact me or Assistant Principal, Dinah Ladd.
