Students who fail courses typically do not have space available in their schedules to retake courses in-person. Credit recovery is for students who have taken and failed a course, and now need to re-take the course online.
Credit Recovery can be done during the school year and/or during Summer School.
Students who do not complete their course by the end of each school year must restart the course with zero percent progress.
Credit recovery classes do not meet National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) requirements; therefore, the credit will not meet the standard for credits if your student plans to attend a Division 1 or 2 university.
School Year Credit Recovery
Students will complete coursework on their own time online using the Edgenuity website.
Credit Recovery students should plan to commit significant time each week to get back on track for on-time graduation. Below are estimated hours depending on how many courses a student hopes to complete during the 9 weeks of each quarter:
- 1 Course = 10% progress per week = 3-4 hours worked per week
- 2 Courses = 20% progress per week = 4-5 hours worked per week
Students are required to attend the credit recovery sessions to take final exams or to get assistance with course content.
Credit Recovery Sessions for Testing & Assistance
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 2:15-3:45 in room 156
- Wednesday from 12:15-1:45 in room 156
Credit Recovery Enrollment
Credit Recovery Staff will review student records and automatically enroll students who are credit deficient during the first month of school each fall.
If you are a new enrollee or feel like you may need credit recovery please email firstname.lastname@example.org.

- Use Microsoft Edge.
- Contact email@example.com if you forget your username or password.
Students who need to make up lost credit can recover 0.5 credit or more through the summer credit recovery program. The classes offer a hybrid approach to learning by combining face-to-face time with a teacher while utilizing the Edgenuity online curriculum.
Summer School is only available to currently enrolled Kent-Meridian Students.
Each summer credit recovery class requires approximately 40 hours for completion. In addition to class time, students will need to average 5-10 hours per week working at home to finish their course work. However, classes are self-paced and therefore a student may take more or less time.
Students will need to complete a minimum of 5 percent progress each day in order to complete one course by the end of summer school.
Students who need to make up more than one class will need to add more time, work, and progress. We strongly encourage students to work from home.
Students and families should consider whether the student has the organizational skills and motivation to work independently and be self-directed.
Students and families will be notified during the 4th Quarter about summer school registration dates and process. Students must be registered by the deadline to be placed in the program. All questions can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
