Individualized Graduation & Degree Program

  • Classes Are Free

Kent School District and Green River College have entered into a partnership to offer a second plus chance to students who have dropped out or are at risk of dropping out of high school. Washington State law makes this possible under the provisions of ESSHB 1418, an Open Doors Youth Re-engagement Program.

At iGrad, which stands for Individualized Graduation and Degree, students can participate in one or more program options:

    1. Kent School District Diploma
    2. Washington State Diploma
    3. Kent School District PreGED®
    4. High School Equivalency Certificate (GED®)
    5. College Certificate
    6. Industry Certificate
    7. Two-year Degree

    A Non-Traditional Location & Schedule

iGrad classes are held in locations that are central to the Kent School District and near to Green River College. KSD Diploma and PreGED® classes take place at 25668 104th Avenue SE in Kent, at the East Hill Plaza located next to Herfy’s Burger, across from Washington Federal Credit Union. Classes for Green River College Washington State Diploma, GED® Prep, certificate programs, and two-year degree options are held at the main Auburn Campus, Auburn Center and Kent Station locations.

Students who participate in the Kent School District (KSD) diploma program must attend nine hours of class per week and can do the bulk of their classwork on the computer away from the classroom. Instructional hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

    Option 2

Students who participate in the Kent School District PreGED® program must attend class nine hours per week. Instructional hours are 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

    Option 3

Students who take the Green River College GED® prep classes will attend from one to three hours a day, four days per week. Classes are held throughout the day and are located at the Kent Station Campus and Auburn Center Campus locations.

    Option 4

Each quarter, students work with an academic advisor to select classes that are required for the Washington State Diploma, certificate programs and two-year degree options. These classes are available throughout the day at any of the Green River College Campus locations.
