Promises Made Promises Kept Your Bond Dollars at Work

Promises Made Promises Kept

  • Welcome!

In November 2016, our community passed a $252 million bond measure to reduce overcrowding and improve every school in the Kent School District. The District thanks our community for its overwhelming support in passing the bond with 67.24% of voters saying “YES” for students. The passage of the 2016 bond gives our students room to learn by providing additional schools and classrooms, and enhancing learning environments with energy efficient heating and ventilation upgrades and critical infrastructure renovations.

The District made promises to our voters and now it is keeping those promises. The purpose of the new KSD Promises Made Promises Kept campaign is to inform our community about the progress and completion of all projects funded by the November 2016 bond measure. The District is committed to being transparent about how bond dollars are spent and keeping our community informed.

One of the first projects scheduled to begin is construction on the new Covington Elementary School, with ground breaking in early 2017. Other projects scheduled to begin in 2017 include safety upgrades and renovating the athletic fields at the middle and high schools. Check the status of these and all other projects on the Projects page.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and be sure to check back often as this site will be updated as projects are begun and completed. With your support, the Kent School District is continuing its mission of Successfully Preparing All Students For Their Futures.
