Kent School District maintains records for the schools within the district. With written authorization, the district can provide student records and other public documents to students and their families. Please note that some records are exempt from disclosure. For more information, please review common exemptions cited with the release of public records.
Make a Request
Typical records requests are either for student records or public records. Student records include documents such as transcripts, report cards, diplomas and special education records. Public records are those that are not related to education. Records requests may be submitted electronically by completing a Public Records Request Form and emailing it to Gayla O'Donnell, or by mailing a hard copy of your request to the following address:
Kent School District
ATTN: Business Services
12033 SE 256th Street #A-600
Kent, WA 98030-6503
Once a request for public records is received, Kent School District has five (5) business days to respond to a records request. Kent School District may provide the records, forward the records to the appropriate department, acknowledge the receipt of the request and give a timetable for delivery, ask for clarification, or deny the request with a statement as to why it is being withheld and with a citation of the appropriate RCW.
