Current Kent School District Students
Students who are currently attending a Kent School District high school, middle school, elementary school, or academy are required to complete a Student Volunteer Form and submit it to their principal for approval.
Homeschooled Students
Students who are currently homeschooled are required to complete a Student Volunteer Form with the parent/guardian signing the form instead of a principal and return it to the school where they wish to volunteer.
Out-of-District Students
Students in high school, middle school, or elementary school who are not enrolled in Kent School District school are required to complete a Student Volunteer Form, obtain a signature from their school principal, and return it to the school where they wish to volunteer.
College Students
Students contacting a school or department regarding completing a university-required observation period before entering a teaching program shall be treated as any other volunteer and complete the Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) online application process.
These students (as well as any other volunteer) shall not be relied upon for student supervision. They may participate in assisting the teacher, but they may not supervise students either in the classroom or other situations – even for short periods of time.
