Volunteer
Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, volunteers and visitors should be online this month, January, or rescheduled for another time. Please contact the principal of the school where you wish to volunteer for online opportunities.
Governor Inslee issued Proclamation 21-14 stating:"to further our individual and collective duty to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, I am requiring all employees, on-site independent contractors, volunteers, goods and services providers, and appointees of designated state agencies to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 on or before October 18, 2021."
Per the directive announced by Governor Jay Inslee in Proclamation 21-14, Kent School District is legally requiring all school district volunteers to get a COVID-19 vaccination and to be fully vaccinated. There is no exemption process at this time for volunteers, please contact your principal for remote opportunities to volunteer. Find information on what kind of documentation is acceptable on the Visual Guide to Official Washington State Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination. Each volunteer will need to upload a photo or copy of their proof of vaccination during the application process (for new volunteers) or renewal of application process (for returning volunteers).
Please read Return to School Safely before beginning volunteer service to learn about safety mitigation strategies. This page will be updated as new safety guidance is available.
A volunteer is any person (other than an employee or contractor) authorized by the Kent School District to assist in school learning, activities, competitions, or events.
Our volunteer program is not for the fulfillment of court-required community service or other obligations imposed for violations of laws.
See process for new volunteers and returning volunteers below.
