    Digital Education Achievement Awards recognize outstanding contributions at the application, intranet and infrastructure level, all to the benefit and quality of online education for students, teachers and the community. This year’s winners are cognizant of this challenge and have developed innovative models to increase learning and promote achievement via the use of technology.

  • Digital Promise League of Innovative Schools

    The Kent School District was chosen for its commitment to doing the difficult work of using technology to deliver results in the classroom. KSD will join a group of other school districts whose leaders have come together to form the League of Innovative Schools. The League connects districts and schools with top universities and entrepreneurs, building a hotbed of innovation where we can demonstrate promising ideas, evaluate them rigorously and rapidly, and accelerate the pace of change in public education.

  • Kent School District One Of Few Districts Nationwide Selected For Green Ribbon Award

    The STAR program, along with laptop battery recycling and computer component recycling, contributed to Kent School District being nationally recognized with a Green Ribbon School District Sustainability Award by the U.S. Department of Education. Also featured in the Green Ribbon award application was the One-to-One program which demonstrates KSD’s commitment to integrating technology into secondary classrooms' STEM curriculum.

  • Kent School District Wins Digital Content and Curriculum Achievement Award

    With a district wide 3:1 student to computer ratio, and a 1:1 program on track for all secondary students over the next two years, providing access to digital resources for teachers and students is key for Kent School District. In addition to platforms for providing student access to digital learning materials, the district has established a comprehensive Curriculum Center for teachers with interactive simulations, video clips, and technology skill development tutorials.

  • Microsoft Innovative Schools World Tour

    The Kent School District was identified in 2013 as an innovative school district to be included in the "Microsoft Innovative Schools World Tour." The tour highlights ground-breaking education practices taking place in the new era of digital learning on nearly every continent. The Kent School District was chosen for its open classrooms and collaborative teaching, anywhere/anytime learning, 1:1 technology access, inventive assessment practices, and individualized, student-centered learning.

  • Award of Merit for Tech Expo Branding/Image Package

    The Kent School District was honored in July 2012 by the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) with an "Award of Merit" for its Technology Expo event program in the "Branding/Image Package" category. NSPRA’s Publications and Electronic Media Awards recognize outstanding education publications (print and electronic), video/TV/radio programs, CD/DVD information materials and websites.   • 'Best of Web' Honorable Mention - K-12 District Education Website

    Kent School District is the recipient of the Best of the Web 2011 award and an 2012 Honorable Mention award from The Center for Digital Education in the category K-12 District Education Website. The district web site was judged in several categories including uniqueness, innovation, accessibility, functionality and security. The Best of the Web Awards recognize and honor outstanding K-12 and higher education websites.

  • Project RED Signature District

    The Kent School District was chosen to become one of 20 "signature" districts to participate in Project RED’s One-to-One technology implementation program whose mission is to revolutionize student learning environments both academically and financially. Through extensive research, Project RED seeks to define technology models that lead to improved student achievement while identifying cost savings, cost avoidance, and revenue enhancements.

  • One-to-One Institute Showcase Site

    The Kent School District has been designated as Showcase Site by the One-to-One Institute. Showcase Sites boast effective, vision-into-action teams (principals, teachers, technology coordinators), and demonstrate student-centered technology integration. Learners in these sites are self-directed, motivated, and enthusiastic. Many sites have evidence of increased student achievement as measured by standardized and other formative assessment tools.

  • International Technology Best Practices Visitation Site

    The Kent School District has been designated as an International Technology Best Practices Visitation Site by Microsoft, National School Boards Association, and the One-to-One Institute. As a result, educators from various states in the US, China, India, Netherlands, Singapore, and United Kingdom have visited our schools to learn how technology is used as a teaching and learning tool.
