    Choir

Choir classes and choirs are designed for all students interested in singing in a choir and learning more about their voice and choral music. There are currently four choirs at Kentridge High School: Chorale, Women’s Chorus, Concert Choir, and Jazz Choir. Students in choir improve their skills in vocal production and technique, learn about historical periods and genres of music, understand basic music theory and sight-singing and note-reading, and perform for audiences at concerts and festivals as well as other performances during the school year. Chorale is designed as a beginning high school choir for students with little or no experience in choral music or who are new freshmen at Kentridge High School. Women’s Chorus is for any girl who wants to learn more about their voice and range and perform specifically women’s choral literature. Concert Choir is an auditioned choir of advanced choral students who have developed a high degree of proficiency in vocal and choral music. Jazz Choir is a small auditioned vocal jazz ensemble specializing in the American jazz style that meets before school during zero period.
