Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC)

  • Purpose

    The Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) is a group of parents, staff and community members working together to provide vision, advice, and guidance helping to ensure all students with special needs receive the highest quality educational programs and services throughout our district. The Advisory Committee works in partnership with parents, staff and other community representatives to achieve the desired standards of equal educational opportunity and program excellence.   

    The Advisory Committee has neither policy-making nor administrative authority. The Advisory Committee’s authority will be consistent with Kent School District Policy 1240 Advisory Committees.


    Meetings are held on Monday or Tuesday evenings in the Multipurpose Room at the TOP located at 26024 111th Ave SE, Kent, WA 98030. Workshop or meeting time is 6:30-8:00 p.m.

    Translation and Childcare Services are Available

    Translators and childcare are available upon request. Please make requests via email to Angela.Dodge@kent.k12.wa.us or by calling (253) 373-7027 no later than the Tuesday before the scheduled meeting.

    Annual Schedule

    The 2018-2019 SEAC meeting schedule is as follows:

    • January - Tuesday, 1/29 – Get to Know the KSD Inclusive Education Team
    • February – Date to be determined – Social Skills
