Referral Window

October 2 – November 17, 2023

Students in Kindergarten and Grades 1, 3, 4, and 6 through 11 may be referred for possible HiCap services by a parent/ guardian, teacher, peer, community member, or themselves in the fall. 

To refer your student for possible HiCap Services, please complete the online form below between October 3 and November 30. 

Please choose the grade level form for the grade your child currently attends.

Elementary

• Kindergarten: Kindergarten Advanced Learning (HiCap) Referral Form 2023-2024
  
• Grades 1, 3, & 4: Grades 1,3 & 4 Advanced Learning (HiCap) Referral Form 2023-2024
• Grades 2 & 5: All students in grades 2 & 5 will be universally screened for HiCap services by completing the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) online between February 1-29, 2024. If your student currently receives HiCap services in KSD, participation in the HiCap screening process will not result in the ending or removal from receiving services. If you would not like your student to be tested or considered for HiCap services, please complete the  2023 – 2024 Grade 2 and 5 Universal Screener Refusal Form   by January 26, 2024.

Secondary

• Grades 6-11: 2023-2024 Grades 6-11 Advanced Learning (HiCap) Referral Form
  • All referred students in grades 6-11 must submit a portfolio by March 1, 2024.
