Vaccination Requirements for External Partners

  • Vaccinations are required for partners working in person with students in Kent School District (KSD) schools.

All employees under contract with a school district, private school, charter school, or educational service district and work in-person with others are included in this requirement. The order does not apply to contractors and subcontractors who are only physically present for short periods of time, and any moments of close physical proximity to others on-site are fleeting.

In alignment with Governor Inslee’s timeline for state employees, KSD partners and volunteers will be needed to be fully vaccinated beginning on October 18.

A vaccine verification will be collected through an appendix to an organization’s contract or agreement for our partners and community-based organizations. The appendix form supplements your contract/MOU for 2021-22. In addition, it certifies that you are managing the verification of vaccination of all your employees. KSD partners are asked to complete the certification form by October 8, and an ongoing basis for those who continue to come on board throughout the year to support our students.

As part of the agreement, our partners must coordinate closely with Seattle King County Public Health regarding any suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 and immediately report any positive cases to Kent School District. And when working with KSD students, our partners will use layered mitigation strategies, including not entering buildings when sick or if having flu or COVID-like symptoms, following the latest Department of Health guidance for youth programs, masking all times except for eating/drinking, commit to frequent handwashing or use of hand sanitizer and to the extent possible, must maintain 6 feet physical distancing.

The Governor’s order does not apply to organizations that use district facilities for events outside of school hours. Building use plans should be submitted through our facility use application process.
