    Family Housing Connection

    At least one member of the family must be in a place not meant for human habitation (e.g. park bench, car) or have a short term motel voucher. Alternatively, one member of the family must be pregnant or an adult (18 years old or older) with at least one child (17 years old or younger) in their care.

    1. Schedule an appointment at 2-1-1
    2. Meet with Family Housing Connection at 1 of 9 convenient office locations
    3. Receive a phone call or email when a housing resource becomes available and complete a brief screening
    4. After being referred to a program, meet with program staff to ensure a good fit

    This Emergency Assistance program helps families, seniors, and people with disabilities with a variety of emergency and basic needs. Services include:

    • Eviction prevention and move-in assistance
    • Rental assistance with case management
    • Utility assistance
    • Information and resource referral
    • Emergency motel vouchers

    The Day Center is open 7 days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Three meals are served every day and showers, laundry facilities, clothing, computers with internet access, health care, life skills classes, advocacy, and hope are available. They also work with partners in the community to find jobs and housing for their guests.

    Grants for mortgage and rent help: a housing stability program that can provide renters and homeowners with one-time loans and/or cash grants. This funding is for tenants and homeowners who are in danger of being evicted or who are facing a foreclosure due to short-term financial difficulties. In addition, it also provides grants and loans to homeless individuals and families who need assistance moving to permanent housing. So first month’s rent, connection fees, or a deposits may be qualified for partial payment. There is also limited assistance for other types of moves.

    For rental assistance, contact 211 and ask to be screened for rental assistance.
