Scholarships with May 2019 Deadlines
The following scholarships are intended as a student resource and are not specifically endorsed by the Kent School District or its schools.
Deadline: May 1, 2019 | Amount: $1,000 - $5,000
Applicant must be currently enrolled as a High School Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior (2019, 2020, 2021 or 2022); and must be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen. Financial need is NOT considered; all income levels may apply.
Greater Kent Historical Society Scholarship
Deadline: May 8, 2019 | Amount: $2,000
The Greater Kent Historical Society is pleased to offer a scholarship to KSD students graduating in 2019 with a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) who are pursuing higher education in history, social studies, pollical science, the humanities, archeology, anthropology, architectural studies, geography, or museum studies. The application is available on Naviance under college and scholarships.
Highline Breakthrough Scholarship
Deadline: May 13, 2019 | Amount: $1,500
The Highline Breakthrough Scholarship is available to graduating seniors who will attend Highline College next year. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA). The application is available on Naviance under college scholarships.
Deadline: May 15, 2019 | Amounts: $1,000, $500, or $250
Applicants must write an essay about their test preparation practices. Use less than 2,000 characters, or about 400, to share how you prepare for a test and why it works for you.
Deadline: May 17, 2019 | Amounts: $1,000 & 500
The Kentwood (KW) Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) will award two Kentwood seniors with scholarships. Applications are available in the Kentwood Counseling Office and must be returned there by Friday, May 17.
Kentridge Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) & Eric Anderson Memorial Scholarships
Deadline: 12:00 p.m. on May 17, 2019 | Amount: Two or more scholarships up to $1,000 each
Applicants must be Kentridge (KR) seniors who plan to attend a post-secondary institution (university, college, vocational, or technical). Recipients may be asked to attend the KR PTSA board meeting on Wednesday, June 5, to receive the award and say a few words. The application is available on Naviance under college scholarships and must be returned to the KR Counseling Office by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17. Late applications will not be accepted.
Deadline: May 17, 2019 | Amount: $1,000
Applicant must be a minority male with at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) who has been accepted to and will attend a four-year collegiate intuition for the fall semester/quarter of 2019. Fill out the common application on The Wash Board.
Deadline: May 20, 2019 | Amount: $40,000 and $5,000 for each deadline
To be eligible to enter the ACT Scholarship Giveaway, you must be a permanent legal resident of the fifty United States of America or the District of Columbia, at least thirteen years old, and in the tenth or eleventh grade (or, if home schooled, in the equivalent of tenth or eleventh grade, and projected to be eligible to attend a post-secondary educational institution no later than October 1, 2021).
Deadline: May 28, 2019 | Amount: Seven scholarships ranging from $1.000-$6,000
Students attending any of the three University of Washington campuses (Seattle, Bothell, or Tacoma) are eligible to apply.
Deadline: May 31, 2019 | Amount: $1,000
This scholarship is open to high school seniors in the United States who have been accepted to and will attend college (either 4-year or community) in the United States and have an interest in the sciences. Plastic surgery is the branch of scientific medicine that is dedicated to the reconstruction and repair of the body. It can correct deformities that are a result of accidents, birth defects, or illness, in addition to improving overall aesthetics of the body. Not only is it a science, but plastic surgery is also an art that helps individuals increase their confidence.
Deadline: May 31, 2019 | Amount: $1,500 three times a year ($4,500 total a year)
Students must be a registered user of NextStepU.com and interested in pursuing a science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) major.

This scholarship is offered by the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity who have shown academic excellence, leadership skills, and commitment to their health and well being during their time in high school. This is open to all incoming men to WSU in 2019. There is no requirement to join the fraternity to be eligible to apply or receive the award.
