iGrad Student Support Team

  • In addition to our school counselors, iGrad has many other ways to support students:

I graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. A year later, I returned to EWU to complete my Master’s degree in School Social Work. After college, I was hired by Green River Community College as the iGrad GED Case Manager, where I was able to help students achieve their short term goals and plan for their future. During my free time I like to play sports, travel, and try new things. The furthest I’ve ever travelled was East Africa, which was actually a really great experience. I plan on travelling to South America next.

    How I can help:

    • Personal goals and action steps
    • Weekly planning and time management
    • Community resources (i.e. housing, food, clothing, health care, parenting programs, child care, etc.)
    • LGBTQ support (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning support)
    • Resume writing, cover letter writing, and job applications
    • Internship opportunities

I earned an AA in Human Services at Tacoma Community College, then moved on to  earn my BA at The Evergreen State College.  I recently completed a Master of Psychology degree at Antioch University, Seattle. I am a first generation college student with a keen understanding of the struggles of today’s sometimes difficult academic world. Last year I was the Mental Health Counselor assigned to Kentridge High. I like to spend my free time playing tabletop games (including RPG’s) as well as amateur photography. I look forward to my time at iGrad!

    How I can help:

I have experience treating clients with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, as well as relationships.  I know sometimes life can be overwhelming and I strive to provide a safe place, without judgment to explore changes and difficulties you may be facing.

I graduated from the University of Washington, where I majored in Psychology and minored in Spanish. I’ve spoken Spanish since I was a child as my mother comes from Mexico (Guadalajara, Jalisco). I grew up in Eastern Washington where me being a biracial and bilingual student did not go unnoticed by my peers. Being ‘between’ two cultures has always been a part of my life. After working for a time at Consejo Counseling and Referral, I decided that I should return to school and attended Seattle University to obtain a Master’s in Psychology. This program confirmed and reinforced my beliefs about therapy—that it should always be genuine, human-based and focus on the relationship between client and therapist.  When I’m not here at iGrad, I’m out in the great outdoors on a hike, doing some sport climbing, or taking photos (sometimes a combination of the three).
