Comfort Kits

All Jenkins Creek students are encouraged to have a comfort kit at school.  Comfort kits include items that your child may need in the event of an emergency, (power outage, earthquake, lockdown, etc..  Below is a suggestion of items that you may want to include.  All items should fit into a one-gallon zip lock bag, be labeled with your childs name and expiration dates of June 2011 or later.
Suggested Items for Student Comfort Kits
  • Bottled water or juice
  • Granola Bars
  • Beef Jerkey
  • Cheese and crackers
  • Trail mix, dried fruits, nuts, a couple pieces of hard candy, fruit snacks
  • Small flashlight or lumilite stick (glow stick)
  • Emergency space blanket
  • 32 gallon garbage bag or disposable rain poncho
  • Letter and/or a couple pictures from home for comfort
It is not too late to send in an emergency kit for your child/children.  If your student does not already have a kit at school, please send one in as soon as possible.  It would be great if every student had one of his/her own.  At the end of the school year, the kit will be sent home with student.
