The 20th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival is Friday, March 24, at Kentlake High School. The festival will run from 5:30-9:00 p.m. with games, activities, demonstrations, performances, and competitions highlighting Japanese culture and traditions.
The festival is open to the community. Pre-sale tickets are available from the Japan club, Judo students, or the cashiers at each high school for $5.00 through the end of the school day Friday, March 24. Tickets can also be purchased at the door around 5:00 p.m. for $7.00. Children under 12 are free with paid admission. Proceeds from the festival will benefit the high schools’ ASB and Japanese exchange programs.
The Cherry Blossom Festival is a longstanding Kent School District tradition that celebrates the region’s connection to Japanese culture and provides an opportunity to meet Japanese exchange students visiting the high schools at this time during the school year.
