We have installed a food composter, nicknamed by the Crestwood students as "The Big Pig". The Earthtub composter will be used to decompose lunch leftovers (We generate 75-100 pounds of waste each week). The leftovers will be placed in the "Big Pig", along with building agents such as wood chips and stirred daily. Once the tub us full, it will sit and "cook" for 3 weeks until the waste has turned to compost.

               Defenders of the Planet Club

Kids Saving the Earth and Defenders of the Planets were student clubs at Crestwood Elementary from 1996-2006. Due to the great effort of Wendy S and these students, we are proud to be a green school continuing to do our part to protect the environment.
