CNN Learning Resources
Each module includes the full text of each story and interactive activities to test comprehension. Activities include vocabulary, word selection, multiple choice, sequencing, conclusions, and an opportunity to answer thought-provoking essay questions. The learner can choose to read the text (complete or abridged), listen to the text, and view a short video clip of the story. Aimed at adult learners but can definitely be used by students of many ages.
International Reading Association
Information and links to help you keep pace with the rapidly changing profession. Resources include the latest titles from IRA's bookstore, announcements of current issues, debates about literacy, professional resources, access to research, and information on local, state, national and international reading/literacy conferences.
Learning to Read: Resources for Language Arts and Reading Research

North Central Regional Educational Laboratory

NIFL (National Institute for Literacy) Partnership for Reading
The Partnership for Reading is a national reading research dissemination project authorized by the No Child Left Behind Act. The Partnership for Reading's mission is to make scientifically-based reading research more accessible to educators, parents, policymakers, and other interested individuals.
Washington Organization for Reading Development (WORD)
State affiliate of the International Reading Association. Includes information about officers, policies, history, etc. of the organization as well as calendar of reading events in the state. Also has information about local and state reading conferences.
