The Kent School District School/Community Partnerships Department seeks to connect businesses, community groups, volunteers, parents, and schools to create winning partnerships in order to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to make positive lifelong personal, social, academic, and career choices.
Partnerships will help provide students with more individual attention, extend their learning experiences, and expand the resources available to maximize their achievement and success. Research confirms that our students are more successful when our community is engaged as partners in their educational experience.
Work collaboratively with a school or the district to develop and implement a plan of activities and/or resource provision to meet student, educator, school, or district needs.
Generously donate financial resources, equipment, supplies, facilities, technical assistance, scholarships or other support to strengthen the educational program and student achievement. To view a list of supplies, books, and other items requested by teachers that you may donate, click here. (type in KEYWORD - Kent)
Mentors can share valuable life experiences with students. A mentor meets informally with a student to help motivate, guide, and support the student.
Assist school staff in day to day activities of the school, special events, or student programs. All district volunteers are required to complete a KSD Disclosure Form, consent to a background check, and be finger printed prior to volunteering. You may download the disclosure form here, complete it and return it to your local school, or contact Faith Sisley. (contact information listed at bottom of this page)
