Talent Show is tonight, May 24th at 6:30pm. Doors will open at 6:15, and we will be starting promptly at 6:30pm. Please join us for a fun filled evening of performances by our amazing students.
Children who turn 5 years old before September 1, 2013 are eligible to enter Kindergarten for the 2013-2014 school year. Registration packets are NOW available. Our Kindergarten parent information night was May 2nd, but we would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

ALL STUDENT LIBRARY BOOKS AND MAGAZINES ARE DUE BACK BY FRIDAY, JUNE 7TH! There will be a Used and Discarded Book Sale on June 18th during Field Day. Students must turn in all books to receive their report cards.
East Hill Elementary Hosted a Design Day for the new KaBoom! Playground at Turnkey Park on March 22. The city of Kent Parks, Recreation and Community Services, the Kent Parks Foundation, Disney VoluntEARS and organizers from KaBOOM! are designing and building a new playground at Turnkey Park. When the planning is finished, the KaBOOM! Team will be building the Project in ONE DAY on June 7th. For more information about the Project contact KaBOOM! On Tuesday, February 26th, East Hill was recognized by Dr. Vargas, for meeting Annual Measurable Objectives in both Reading and Math in 2011-2012, for having the Largest Percent Increase in Proficiency in Math 2011-2012, and for acheiving the highest rating in the Kent School District as a Very Good School on the Washington Academic Acheivement Index. Way to go Blazer Bees!!!

The Washington Dental Service Foundation SmileMobile will be coming to Kent to offer dental care to children of all ages who are in need of care but have a limited family income. Call for an appointment before Friday, May 31.
The KSD school board recognized the staff members who have retired or will be retiring from the district this year in their recent board meeting. A reception was held in the lobby prior to the meeting.
Superintendent Vargas and KSD Refugee Transition Center Liaison Clair Chean were honored during the organization’s Council Awards Celebration for their support and contributions to the KSD community.
