First Day of School

The turn in date for all laptop computers, bags and chargers is Thursday June 6th. All library books and textbooks must be returned to the Cedar Heights library by the end of the day on Friday, June 7th. . Please take care of all fees and fines by the end of the day on Wednesday, June 12. Overdue materials and unpaid fees may prevent your student from receiving a yearbook until the last day of school or attending the 8th grade celebration on June 17th
There are a limited supply of yearbooks for sale for $27 starting June 3. Yearbook will be disributed to 8th graders on Monday June 17 at the 8th Grade Party. 7th graders will receive theirs on Tuesday June 18. Students are required to sign a receipt and put their name on the inside cover. Students will not receive their yearbook if they owe a fine.
Reserve the date! The 8th grade end of the year celebration is on Monday, June 17 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. The menu will be pizza, cookies, candy, chips, pop and water. The kids will be able to play on inflatable toys, sign yearbooks and play video games. Any student with a 4th quarter disciplinary/office referral will not be allowed to attend the celebration. You may request an administrative review. All overdue textbooks, library books, fees and fines must be resolved by Wednesday, June 12th.
Monday-Friday June 24-August 23; 11:30 AM- 12:15 PM. It is not neccessary to be a Cedar Valley student to come in and enjoy a free lunch.
Northwood Middle School teacher Amy Abrams has been selected as the Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD) Regional Teacher of the Year!
The Board concluded that collaboration was of great value in increasing student achievement, but should continue to explore options without adding any additional late start or partial school days to the calendar.
Two Kentwood students were among 160 juniors in the state selected for a six-day summer residency experience at The Museum of Flight.
The Council met with district administrators to learn about district updates and provide input about career pathways. This was also an opportunity for the District to thank businesses for their involvement and support.
