Kent School District has been in close contact with the State Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and the U.S Department of Education regarding the reinstatement of the Highly Qualified status for impacted teachers. On Monday afternoon, August 3, a fire broke out outside the art building on the Kent-Meridian High School campus leaving three classrooms with damage. There were no students, staff, or visitors in the building at the time and no injuries reported.
During the summer months, the Kent School District technology team prepares more than 23,000 devices for students and staff members.
